ALIAS: LINGUAGGIO RESISTENTE

I’m honored to be hosted by a page spread in today’s Alias, the cultural supplement to Il manifesto, hosted by the expansive poet/conversationalist/all-around happening-wringer Maria Teresa Carbone: here are glimpses of the wide-ranging interview in which poetry, translation, scholarship and activism are treated as part of the same continuum, as are so-called national languages. And here’s a glimpse of us listening to my sound poem from X Locus: Abluvion over a tract of Trajan’s aqueduct at the American Academy in Rome where we met up. I spent a couple of hours in a Trastevere café improvising answers to seemingly unanswerable questions. Gratitude to those who read and think from within and without police states.
